Work carried out in the frame of the national commission “Radioscopie de la France” by the French ministry of culture and Bibliothèque nationale de France.

This project is devoted to the treatment of memories conveyed by statuary in the public space in France, and is the fruit of extensive and archival research on the figures they embody. Through a range of statues, linked to portraits of people whose history is intimately linked to what they represent, this work questions the meaning of memorial representations, what creates common ground and what divides.

Each statue is accompanied by a legend engraved on aluminum, recounting the history of the person in the statue and the acts of vandalism perpetrated on it. Each portrait is accompanied by an interview.
